Looking for Someone?
I see faces everywhere.
In two holes in a stone. A knot in a piece of wood. Two halves of an onion on a chopping board.
Once you see it, it is difficult to unsee it.

During a ceramics workshop, we realised the maker’s new wedding rings had disappeared. We lifted the clay. Look who turned up.

I like how little it takes for an object to acquire a character. Curious, slightly annoyed, or as if it knows something we don’t.

The object is the same. Only the way we see it has changed.
Maybe we are not always looking for faces.
Maybe we are looking for someone.
